The Parish of Ashburton seeks a priest who can provide biblical teaching and inspire people to spread the Good News of Jesus to our wider community; someone who can be innovative in encouraging parishioners in their personal faith walk by enabling them to understand and pursue their own discipleship; who encourages young people and families to become part of the church family, and offers sensitive pastoral care to our older parishioners; someone willing to be involved in the many aspects of parish life and the wider community.

Ashburton is a thriving service centre for the greater Mid-Canterbury agricultural region. Mid-Canterbury is in the South Island of New Zealand and extends from the Rakaia River in the north to the Rangitata River in the south, and from the ocean in the east to the Alps in the west. The parish of Ashburton is one congregation with three church buildings: St Stephen's, St Peter's, Allenton and St Andrew's, Tinwald.
