King’s School is a dynamic and inclusive Anglican school committed to fostering the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of our students. We are seeking a dedicated School Chaplain to join our vibrant school community, providing pastoral care and spiritual guidance to our primary and intermediate students, staff, parents and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pastoral Care & Support: Provide compassionate pastoral care and emotional support to students, staff, and families within the school community. Be a trusted confidant and guide, offering a listening ear and spiritual advice when needed.

• Religious Education: Teach engaging and age-appropriate religious education classes that inspire students to explore and develop their own faith journeys. Encourage open discussions and foster an understanding of Anglican traditions and values.

• Chapel Services: Lead daily morning chapel services, creating a welcoming and reflective environment for worship and prayer. Organise and conduct occasional Sunday services, ensuring they are inclusive, meaningful, and aligned with the Anglican faith.

• Community Engagement: Actively participate in school events, fostering strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the local community. Encourage and lead community outreach initiatives that align with the school’s values. Maintain good networks of relationship with other school chaplains and with the Diocese of Auckland.

• Spiritual Leadership: Serve as a spiritual leader within the school, offering guidance and mentorship to students and staff. Be a visible and approachable presence within the school community, exemplifying Christian values in all interactions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Ordained Anglican Priest and able to teach Religious Studies.

• Experience in pastoral care, particularly with children and young people.

• Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to engage, lead and inspire in both religious and educational settings.

• Commitment to the values and ethos of Anglican education and King’s School.
