Full-Time Minister Position Available- Brooklands Church - New Plymouth, New Zealand

Brooklands Church is excited to announce a unique opportunity for a full-8me Minister to lead our community of faith. We are looking for a dedicated leader & team-player who can both honor our church’s rich history and inspire a renewed vision for the future under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

About the Role:

This position is integral to the life of our church and community. The Minister will take a key role in nurturing the existing faith community while envisioning new ways to grow and serve. With a strong commitment to following Jesus and a deep love for people, the Minister will help lead Brooklands Church on a journey of spiritual growth and outreach. The Minister will work closely with the Parish Council and other ministry leaders.

We are Seeking a Minister Who:

•Has a vibrant Chris8an faith and a passion for mission, driven by a desire to share the love of Jesus with others.

•Can build and nurture a welcoming, inclusive community of faith, encouraging spiritual growth and discipleship.

•Possesses effective leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the Parish Council, church ministry leaders, and denomina8onal partners.

•Has a heart for the local community and is committed to building connec8ons, especially with younger families, both within the church and beyond.

•Brings experience or a deep commitment to overseeing pastoral care, leading worship, and guiding outreach initiatives. 

•Has appropriate theological training and is ordained as either a Presbyterian or Anglican minister, or willing to explore ordination in one of these.

Key Responsibilities:

•Leading and inspiring the congregation in worship, prayer, and Bible teaching in a way that embraces both our Anglican and Presbyterian heritage.

•Providing pastoral care and spiritual guidance, building a supportive environment for all members.

•Embrace and develop a ‘team approach’ to ministry and implement a vision for the future alongside the Parish Council.

•Supporting and empowering church ministry leaders, ensuring effective communication and accountability.

•Engaging with the wider community, inviting others into the life of faith, and supporting local outreach initiatives.
