Part-time Vicar (0.6FTE) Malvern Parish

Part-time Vicar (0.6FTE) Malvern Parish

We are a multi-centered rural parish based in Darfield, 50km West of Christchurch city. The Parish stretches from the outskirts of Christchurch to the mountains of the Southern Alps. We count ourselves blessed to have our farms, homes and gardens in such a beautiful place.

We have strong links with the local Co-operating (Methodist/Presbyterian) Parish, who share many of our buildings. Trinity Church in Darfield was the first joint-use church to be built in New Zealand.

We are looking for a Vicar with energy and a passion for rural ministry. The parish is looking for someone with optimism, who can relate to a wide range of members of the community. We would like to become increasingly inclusive, reaching out to younger people, young families, and new and diverse residents of the area, whilst taking our traditional population of farmers and rural families with us. The new vicar needs to be able to inspire Anglican church members in their faith and maintain and develop the ecumenical relationships which already exist.
A parish profile and an expression of interest form are available by emailing the Executive Assistant at the Diocese of Christchurch: bishopsea@anglicanlife.org.nz or by phoning 03 348 6701. Expressions of Interest close 4pm Monday 15th May 2023.
