Diocesan Accountant, Peter Mann House, Dunedin Diocese Office

This is an opportunity to work for a Christian Faith based organisation that supports Anglican Parishes south of the Waitaki River, as well as two Trusts (the Diocese of Dunedin and the Dunedin Diocesan Trust Board). Key responsibilities are outlined in our Position Description, but we are looking for:

  • Someone who is a chartered accountant or has appropriate qualifications/experience.
  • An excellent communicator.
  • A person who can deal with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in Trust and Investment accounting, the not-for-profit sector and/or Accpac or Sage.
  • Someone who can work independently but also seek out support and supervision as required.

You will report to the Diocesan Registrar-Manager and be accountable to the Bishop and the Diocese of Dunedin. We offer support for you to maintain your on-going practice requirements and can work with you to access any other resources that may be required.

The Diocese of Dunedin sees itself as: seeking to respond to God’s Call in Otago and Southland with faith communities who read the Bible, pray and live out the life of Jesus Christ. While being a person of Christian Faith is not a requirement of this position, some understanding/awareness of how the church operates and/or a willingness to learn this would be an advantage.

A Position Description is available from the Diocesan Manager. Please send your CV and covering letter to Andrew Metcalfe, PO Box 13170, Green Island, Dunedin 9052 or registrar@calledsouth.org.nz. Applications close on 1 April 2021.
