Do you have a passion for working with children? Are you enthusiastic about the Christian faith and are willing to help children engage with the message of Jesus in a fun, caring and supportive environment? Would you like to join the St Barnabas staff team to lead the church focused children’s ministry?

St Barnabas is a lively Anglican Parish in Christchurch with a strong community focus and a wide range of groups and ministries. These include groups for children, youth, young adults, seniors, men and women as well as groups for those learning English, an after-school club, play group, mainly music and Messy Church.

We are looking forward to engaging a part time Children’s Worker to join our team…

The ideal applicant will...

  • be a committed Christian with leadership skills
  • enjoy working with children and their families
  • have experience as a Children’s Worker
  • enjoy working within a supportive team environment

However if you are interested but think you don’t have the experience or skills we still want to hear from you! We are willing to help you develop your skills on the job with mentoring and support. There are also other part-time roles in the parish that you may be interested in.
