Hiona St Stephens Opotiki 150th Anniversary

At the request of the Vicar, Revd Arthur Bruce of the Opotiki Parish, would it be possible to advertise the Hiona St Stephen’s 150^th Anniversary in your hui amorangi/diocese newsletters?

 

This is especially significant as it is the second oldest church in the Waiapu Diocese and it will be the occasion for a special carving (pare) being installed above the entrance doorway in recognition of the Parliamentary Bill being passed for the Restoration of the mana, character and reputation of Mokomoko.

 

It is a wider community and local iwi occasion as well as of significance for the parish.

Friday: Powhiri/welcome, registrations, wine and cheese

 

Saturday: Street parade, stalls, tours, and dinner

 

Sunday: Blessing of carving, Easter service, and luncheon.
