Prison Chaplain – Waikeria Prison

Part-time position, 3 days per week (24 hours)

Waikeria prison is 5km from Te Awamutu and 40km south of Hamilton

· Help us show the love of God inside the prison walls

· Minister to all prisoners regardless of their faith and religious traditions

· Co-ordinate religious services and provide pastoral support

and journey with prisoners as they encounter the challenges of prison life and the separation from loved ones and whanau.

We need someone who has theological training, a deep faith, pastoral experience and knowledge of te reo and tikanga Māori. A person who can provide group and individual services, pastoral support, and lead and co-ordinate volunteers. A reasonable level of physical and psychological fitness is required for the job.

Every day will be different, so adaptability is important.

Tikanga Pasefika encompasses Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and the Cook Islands, and is known as the Diocese of Polynesia. Publication: 'Anglican Taonga' (Treasure) is a publication affirming the unity and diversity of the Anglican community in these islands. .
