Diocese of Christchurch - Senior Youth Worker Part Time - Parish of Sumner-Redcliffs

Sumner Redcliffs Anglican Church is a fun and thriving community based in the seaside suburb of Sumner. We are looking for an experienced Senior Youth Worker to join our staff team and church community, who can continue to build on and develop the solid culture and foundations of our current youth ministry.
Are you excited about building relationships with young people and sharing the love of Jesus? Are you an encouraging and approachable leader? Then this may be the position for you.

Our Senior Youth Worker position is an exciting role where you will have the freedom to use your skills and passions to connect with our large community of young people. You will have a team of experienced volunteers to work alongside you, as well as an established staff team to provide you with the support you need. 
We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong relationship with Jesus and lives out a Christian faith in everyday life
  • Has proven experience working with a large group of young people
  • Has leadership skills and experience supervising, training and encouraging our young adult leaders
  • Can demonstrate sound biblical knowledge and can clearly and inspiringly teach the Bible to others
  • Is fun, enthusiastic and ready to get stuck in and give things a go.

The 1992 Constitution of this Church provides for three partners to order their affairs within their own cultural context. Within Aotearoa New Zealand, Tikanga Pakeha comprises seven Dioceses, Tikanga Maori comprises five Amorangi, the boundaries of which differ from those of the dioceses. Tikanga Pasefika encompasses Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and the Cook Islands, and is known as the Diocese of Polynesia. Publication: 'Anglican Taonga' (Treasure) is a publication affirming the unity and diversity of the Anglican community in these islands. .
